Want to tie in your customer just a little bit closer? Give him that offer that makes it just a little bit more attractive than your competitor? Something that makes him come back? Something else than just a better price? IT systems support yes, but the problem is that its is different every single time. Can't keep on changing those systems.

Be the value-adder that plugs in between your customer and his other supplies. Build a virtual project space on the internet. Create a forum for exchanging project plans, documents, photos; accessible from any office or while travelling; by your customer, your own staff and any 3rd party. Doesn't have to cost much, maybe not really anything. Why wait?

Then watch the customer turn his focus away from price and into true value adding on those large projects.
